THE SUMMER OF SCI-FI 2026 - POST APOCALYPTIC MOVIES

 

As I sit writing this post in Norfolk we've just had one of the hottest bank holiday weekends on record.

The sun is out.

The barbeques are blazing.

Summer is here (well, technically it's still spring but who's counting) and that means just one thing - it's time to declare this year's Summer Of Sci-Fi officially open !!!!!

This year's theme is - The Apocalypse -  or most importantly- it's after effects.

Now, you'd think there wouldn't be much to a movie that's set after the proverbial balloon has gone up - everyone's dead right ? How wrong you'd be - there's an almost infinite amount of stories that can be told after the world has ended, all you need is a handful of desperate survivors, toss in a few mutants and Bob's yer Uncle - you have a post apocalyptic sci-fi extravaganza on your hands.

Post apocalyptic cinema is also an absolute gift for the makers of B-movies too - all you have to do is dress a few actors in tattered rags and hang around your local disused industrial estate and you can almost smell the fallout.

So, join me all Summer as we delve into the wonderful world of the end of the world. Whether it's nukes, zombies, plagues or aliens that takes the planet down, there should be something here to satisfy all tastes.

It's the end of the world as we know it !!!!!!(But we'll feel fine)...
