POST HALLOWEEN

The pumpkins have been smashed.

The plastic skeletons have been put away.

Halloween is over for another year...................................

BUT - it's still Autumn and here in the Backroom I celebrate Halloween well into the latter part of November - so that's what we're going to do - continue our seasonal look into the world of VHS era horror.

AND - there are other things to celebrate in November too. Here in the UK it's Bonfire night week - a celebration of a failed attempt to blow up parliament (better luck next time) which involves small children making effigies of a dead terrorist and burning it on a bonfire. Sounds sinister? You'd be right - so in the interests of this macabre tradition I'll be doing something appropriate over the next couple of days. I like to think of Bonfire night as the New Year to Halloween's Christmas.

Also over on the other side of the pond, my American readers will be having their own post Halloween blow out in the shape of Thanksgiving - so i'll also be covering something to do with that as well.

November is always the time of transition between Halloween and Christmas, Autumn and Winter. So don't go anywhere because there's still a lot of spooky fun to be had.
